Nixon Resigns From Presidency, Consoles Himself By Meeting the Future of Law Enforcement

Of all the historical photos I thought I’d see today, this was definitely not one of them!

Richard Nixon (U.S. president from 1969-1974) meets Robocop in 1987.  The caption under this photo in Billboard Magazine reads:

“Richard M. Nixon is escorted by RoboCop at a national board meeting of the Boys Club of America. The RoboCop character was on hand to call attention to […] the action-adventure film’s video release. The [VHS] cassette will be available in video stores beginning Jan. 28 for a suggested list price of $89.98.”

Wait?  A VHS tape cost $89.98?!!!
