Huffington Post's 'Black History Photo of the Day' for Feb 22

This is a photo from the funeral of Medgar Evers, a Civil Rights activist who was assassinated by a white supremacist in his driveway in 1963. The photo shows his widow and two children. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery for his service in WWII. His murderer was only convicted in 1994.

His widow, Myrlie Evers-William read the invocation at Barack Obama’s re-inauguration last month.
